Green Streets is coming to you on Saturday, June 16th from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Tours will be starting at Painters Hall, where there will be vendors and wonderful things to share. There will be a chance to partake in honey tastings and samplings of some of our organic produce fresh off the farm! We may also have some tasty beverages to quench your thirst before or after a nice little jaunt around our community.

One of our green certified contractors, Better Builders of Oregon, will be there with an onsite presentation on ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms) which they are using on our new Net Zero home, being built on John Muir Loop. The Net Zero home has 2-levels, 4 bedrooms, and 2.5 baths. With a master on the main and a name that says it all (Net Zero means the energy is uses is equal to what it generates), this is a home tour and presentation you don’t want to miss.
The Sustainable Living Center, a non-profit that champions Education, Demonstration, & Activation, will be available to answer any of your ‘sustainable green’ questions. One of preferred lenders Umpqua Bank will also be around with rumors of ice cream to be served. Our Urban Farmer, Colleen Owen, will of course be out here with some organic goodies that she has just harvested, as well as lovely hand-made soaps, and sweet honey from our bees that are close neighbors with the chickens at Cluckingham Palace.
“See you at Cluckingham Palace!”
Our wonderful residents will also be opening up their homes; so, if you’ve been curious about living here and what a design looks like first-hand, this is a great chance to do just that! We will have a combination of self-guided and guided tours throughout the day. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
